The Danish Agricultural Agency handles farmers’ applications for EU agricultural subsidies, and subsequently administrates the subsidies and verifies the subsidy basis.
For this, the Agency relies on IMK2 – an advanced GIS solution developed and maintained by COWI.
With around 45,000 users and highly complex GIS calculations based on some 200 map layers, the system makes extremely high demands on system performance and reliability.
COWI has also developed a mobile application that facilitates workflows for Agency staff working in the field. Among other things, the app includes a camera, GPS and note function, and input is synchronised to the main system via a secure link.
